I use Yahoo for my base in finding information for animals. I go to science, animals, and then work from there to start my searching's. Later I branch off.

    Canine Links
The Sunshine Band : This is mostly a humorous page. There are many touching stories, and a lot of hard-core information about animal abuse. The pages are quite fun to flip through.

The Voice for Dogs : This is a site about dog abuse. There is also some info, but not as much on cat abuse. There is a boycott for one of the main Pet Stores in Texas going on.

United Animal Nations: This is basically a charity for animals. The site is informative about problems. Also they have grants to help pets in medical trouble.

Yellow Pet: The Yellow Pages of the Animal World. I've found it a very nice way to reference animal links and information without getting back XXPORNTEENSLUTS and such things.

Veterinary Information for Dog Owners: Posting this link gives me mixed feelings. The information on the page is very good. However, I do not care for the Doctor's personal opinions on many issues such as declawing and behavior. I advise you to approach the information for the medical reasons, and not the personal ones. It also has a sister site for cats.

The American Kennel Club: On some horizons, the AKC is GOD. It is not. It is a breed registry and nothing more. It does not promote the welfare of dogs, and having a dog with AKC papers or AKC parents means absolutely nothing when it comes to quality. Take these pages for the information they have, but remember, the breed standards on many dogs are ideals chosen by people. Use the AKC as a starting point, but do not take its word as law. If you find a breed you like, talk to the people that own the dogs. They will give you the information you need.

    Other Canine Links:
German Shepherds.Com: This is not the largest of sites, but it has a very active and informed Web Board for Shepherd lovers. The members on the board are pretty nice and have experience with the breed.

Working Dogs.Com: For those of you interested in working your dogs in herding, SchH, protection, and more, this is the site you are interested in. It is a Web Magazine for the Working Dog.
